Strawberries in our Garden

Last summer, we bought one strawberry plant from Lowe's. We planted it, and by the end of the summer growing season, the one plant had put off at least 30 runners... We let the runners grow until it was time to plant our fall garden. Then we dug them all up, disconnected their runners, and planted them in two rows. We had so many left over that we had to just put them in planter pots. Now, it's March, and we are getting fresh strawberries from our garden! It's awesome!!

The strawberries are much bigger than I expected them to be. They look like the ones you buy in the store...and they taste soo sweet!

I wonder if the strawberry plants that are producing right now will also put out runners this summer. If they do, we will have more strawberry plants than we'll know what to do with!! I don't want them to take over the whole garden, so we'll have to figure out a way to give them to our friends and neighbors, or something!

  1. Your strawberries look amazing! I'm hoping to plant some this summer. I'm sure they're so much better than the ones you buy in the store!
