7 month-old Isaac!

My baby boy is 7 months old today!
"What Am I?" by La Coccinella ... is Isaac's favorite book! We read it together almost everyday! The pictures inside have a clean white background, which make the colorful animals pop off the page!

During his 7-month photo shoot, Isaac was a little wiggle worm!
The blanket he is leaning against was made by me, his Mommy! It's a crochet pattern I made up myself after I saw a similar blanket for sale on the Baby Gap website. I love to crochet...wish I had more time for it.

The feet are a constant distraction these days!

In Memory

Jason's Grandpa, August 22, 1914 to August 10, 2010 ~ He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Hanging out with Puppy

Isaac spends most of his time inside right now, because it is so hot! One morning it was warm, but not hot, so we decided to enjoy a little "fresh" air out in the back yard. It was still pretty humid, so we only spent a few minutes out under the live oak tree behind our house.

Isaac and Puppy enjoyed gazing up at the tree limbs hanging overhead. The sky was a beautiful blue with white, fluffy clouds. The sun was not shining very bright yet, so the photos had good lighting and no shadows!

Backyard beauties

Clown Flowers in our back yard! They are so beautiful! The colors are vivid, the texture like velvet! Rich, dark purple, with lighter shades of lavender and creamy yellow in the center. The best part is they come up every summer on their own. We never planted them, they just showed up in our back yard garden space, and have kept coming up for the past four years we've lived here!

These brilliant orange Cosmos were planted, from seeds, in our garden last year, and this year they came back on their own! They are very tall plants. I held the camera way over my head to snap these two photos! It had just started to sprinkle, so the water droplets were clinging to the petals in a glorious, delicate way.

I wish these flowers made good bouquets, but they don't last very long, so it's better to enjoy them outside in their natural setting, rather than arranged in a vase on my table.

Cereal is yummy!

My face is nice in clean in these top two photos, but that's only because I haven't started eating yet! I'm waiting for Mommy to make me a bowl of cereal!
Our cousins gave us a wonderful booster seat to use for feeding Isaac! It attaches to our kitchen chairs perfectly! It takes up so much less space than a full size high chair! I would really recommend using this type of thing instead of buying a high chair. The time a baby uses the high chair is fairly short, and then you have to store the big thing until you have another child, or you have to try to sell it or donate it. You can also transport it really easily vs. a high chair. This booster chair is great for the three meals of cereal and veggies that Isaac is getting right now. He also gets his regular bottle feedings both with his meals and inbetween. I wonder when he will move from the "every 3 hours" feeding schedule to a "3 meals a day". I'm also preparing his baby food for now, instead of using baby food from the store. So far he has tried sweet potatoes, yellow squash, butternut squash, and green peas. He likes all of those foods! I want to make him spinach next, but I need to read online about how to prepare it. My friend sent me a really, really great website about making your own baby food. It also has some really great information about how to start your baby on solid foods.
I think I'll play with my feet a little bit while I'm waiting to eat! These little chicks on my feet are so soft and cute, I wonder if they taste good...oh, can't quite get my feet in my mouth while sitting, buckled into this chair...will have to taste them later when I'm in my crib.
His face gets pretty messy with the cereal and veggies. I will post some more photos and video of him eating veggies soon!

Jason's Birthday!

Notice...Isaac's shirt says My Dad is Awesome! :-) It's his little way of saying happy birthday, Dad! :-) Isaac also gave Daddy a birthday card and lot and lots of LOVE!
I blew up a few balloons "for Jason's birthday" so that "we could see Isaac's reaction"! Isaac loved to watch me batting the ballons around and see them float slowly back onto the floor. When he can walk, I'm sure he'll really enjoy playing with balloons!
